On 10th November 2020 at 10.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Seyed Reza Nobakhti, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand, together with Mr. Mahmoud Alizadeh, First Secretary and Mr. Alee Suksamran, Consular Officer, paid a courtesy call on Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok. In this regard, Chairman of Advisors to Governor of Bangkok, Deputy Governors of Bangkok, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA, Adviser to Governor of Bangkok, Assistant Secretary to Governor of Bangkok, BMA Spokesman, and BMA officials jointly welcomed at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Governor of Bangkok and BMA executives for the warm welcome and was honored to meet the Governor. He congratulated Thailand for efficiently curbing the spread of COVID-19 and added that Iran has successfully developed a coronavirus vaccine and is preparing for human trials. Moreover, Iran can also produce anti-corona medicine for Iranian people. The Ambassador talked about political and economic relations with other countries, support of medical supplies to prevent COVID-19 and friendly relations between Bangkok and Tehran established on 27 November 2012. In this regard, Tehran has more challenges in city management than Bangkok; therefore, it is ready to cooperate with Bangkok in various areas such as waste management, environmental management, traffic management, etc. On this occasion, the Ambassador is pleased to cooperate in organizing a video conference between executives of Bangkok and Tehran in order to achieve concrete cooperation.
