Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, had a site visit to inspect Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination service for at-risk groups of people working in entertainment places in Vadhana District and boost morale of officers stationed at vaccination unit.
The Governor of Bangkok said that, due to the new COVID-19 clusters in Thong Lor areas, Subcommittee on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Administration agreed to use vaccine to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Thong Lor clusters. In this regard, the BMA expedites its vaccination service provision among at-risk groups from entertainment places located in Vadhana District.
Today (April 6, 2021), the BMA has inoculated people whose name was on the list provided by Vadhana District Office and Thong Lor Metropolitan Police Station in order to reduce overcrowding. Vaccines provided this time is Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine which are administered to people between 18 and 59 years old. Overall, the vaccination service went well. During April 7 – 9, 2021, the vaccination unit will be moved to Saeng Thip Sport Field and can provide vaccination service for 600 people per day, 1,800 people in total. After getting vaccinated, officers will ask vaccine recipients to rest and wait for 30 minutes to monitor symptoms of possible side effects. If having no symptoms or reactions, they can go back home. People who received the first dose of COVID-19 must receive the second dose within 2 – 4 weeks. People who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 today must come for the second dose on April 28, 2021.
Moreover, the BMA has provided mobile unit to perform COVID-19 screening test and active case finding among the group of at-risk people who work in entertainment places in the areas of Vadhana and Khlong Toei districts. Biosafety Mobile Units granted by H.M. King were used to collect test specimen using nasopharyngeal swabs, together with the assistance of officers from Department of Disease Control under the Ministry of Public Health, at I Arena, Thong Lor Soi 10.
The Governor of Bangkok added that the BMA requested for kind cooperation from the high-risk people or close contacts to perform self-isolation and self-observation of symptoms at home for the specified period and should reveal true information to Disease Investigation Officer. The low-risk people or people who had tested negative must strictly comply with COVID-19 preventive measures.
