Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, presided over the opening ceremony of public service point for facilitating and taking care of the people during the 2021 Songkran Thai New Year holidays at Thawi Watthana district and raised spirit and morale of the officers who were on duty at the public service point.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up public service point to facilitate the people as well as to take care of public safety during national holidays of the 2021 Songkran festival so that the people can travel happily with the “New Normal” way of life, free from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection, and road accidents can be reduced during the 2021 Songkran festival. Public service point will be set up at Caltex Petrol Service Station (Dao To) on Boromratchachonnani Road (outbound direction), from April 10 to 13, 2021, and under the overpass of Phuttha Monthon Sai 3 Road crossing Boromratchachonnani Road (inbound direction), from April 14 to 16, 2021. Setting up the public service point is the cooperation among organizations from both public and private sectors in Thawi Watthana district area.
Inside the public service point during the 2021 Songkran festival, drinking water, coffee, refreshing towels, surgical face masks, and alcohol-based hand sanitizers are provided. Medical service unit with doctors, nurses, and medical supplies and basic vehicle check unit are available to provide assistance to the people for 24 hours. The public service point is located on the route where people traveling on the road trip to Bangkok’s neighboring provinces such as Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi as well as to other provinces in the southern region of Thailand.
