Therefore, in order to control transmission of disease in communities in Bangkok and reduce density of COVID-19 patients presenting with mild symptoms in hospitals, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up the 6th BMA field hospital using the venue of Phrapariyattidhamma School, Srisudaram Temple, Bangkok Noi district. This hospital is a special ward for the patients with an asymptomatic COVID-19 infection or those with mild or moderate symptom (green COVID-19 patients). It has already been opened for service on May 19, 2021 starting from 12.00 hrs.
All of the BMA field hospitals have practiced the same safety standards and guidelines to prevent disease transmission as in other main hospitals. The field hospitals will take care of asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 cases. If the symptoms become more severe, the patients will be transfer to the main hospitals. Strict practice guidelines have been imposed on COVID-19 patients. All visitors are barred from visiting virus patients at hospital; however, they can leave their get well gift baskets for patients at the time and place specified by the hospital. Taking photograph or posting any messages on online social media that is likely to cause any harms and damages during treatment in the field hospital is not allowed.
