Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, had a site visit to inspect the active case finding service to screen and detect confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection and raise spirit and morale of officers working at Chaloem Phrakiat 72 Phansa Sports Center, Min Buri District.
As the COVID-19 outbreak has been widely spread, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) by the Health Department, together with network partners, has set up teams to visit risk areas to continuously and actively conduct symptom screening and search for COVID-19 infected persons among people living in communities in Khlong Sam Wa District. The method used this time is saliva testing for COVID-19 which is almost effective as nose or throat swabs and it can rapidly and easily collect samples.
Moreover, operational unit for COVID-19 screening have been set up to actively search for COVID-19 patients using nasopharyngeal swabs. The unit has provided COVID-19 screening services from May 17 – June 12, 2021 under strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention and control measures. For example, body temperature screening point has been set up; waiting areas for people at each stage of services have been arranged; and everyone wears sanitary and fabric face masks and applies social distancing. All these aim at providing the safe, fast, and convenient active COVID-19 screening services for the people.
