At Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha), Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, presided over the meeting of the BMA Committee on Communicable Diseases, No. 5/2021. After the meeting, Pol.Capt. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, BMA spokesman, revealed that the meeting discussed additional relaxing measures after the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) at the national level determined to remap the new color-coded COVID-19 control zones and Bangkok became one of the eight provinces in control (orange) zone with relaxation of key measures. Restaurants, pubs, bars, karaoke shops, establishments for bath services and massage parlors can be opened until 11:00 p.m. and consumption of liquor and alcohol drinks is allowed. Social distancing of at least 2 meters must be applied for tables with people sitting. It is prohibited to have tables with people standing and area for dancing in order to reduce closeness and lower the risk of disease infection. The establishments must comply with preventive measures using registration control via the Thai Chana online platform, the Mor Chana application, or strictly record information in the form of document.
Moreover, gyms, fitness centers, exercise venues can resume its regular services and provide teaching class. Competitions can be organized at the sports venues and arenas with spectators but there will be different regulations imposed on each type of sports. Meetings, trainings, seminars, banquets, shows and performances can be organized but the number of attendees is limited at only 300 people. If exceeding 300 people, the organizer must request for permission from the district office. All schools, nurseries, early childhood development centers and preschool child development centers can reopen with normal teaching activities under control measures. All relaxing measures will take effect from February 23, 2021 onwards.
Regarding the moving or travel of alien labors, it can be categorized into permanent and round-trip for daily work. There will be different control measures for each type of business. The BMA Health Department was assigned to determine inclusive and clear control measures and principles as soon as possible.
