Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, had a site visit to inspect the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures and the protection of students from the problem of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) at Wat Lat Bua Khao School, Saphan Sung District. On this occasion, the Governor of Bangkok also discussed and listened to the complaints and problems from people living in the area of Saphan Sung District to define approaches and methods to rapidly solve the problem and alleviate hardships of people in the locality.
The delegation of BMA executives visited Wat Lat Bua Khao School, Saphan Sung District to inspect the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures and the protection of students from fine particulate matter (PM2.5) problem. Also, they observed the teaching and learning activities in kindergarten level and primary education level, inspected COVID-19 screening points, handwashing stations, and waiting points for parents, and checked the orderliness and safety of school buildings and its surroundings. The school was strongly advised to strictly comply with measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and measures to prevent fine particulate matter (PM2.5) for the safety of students, teachers, and educational personnel. This will increase confidence of parents who send their children to study at the BMA affiliated schools.
After that, the BMA executives joined the discussion, listened to problems and received complaints from people living in the area of Saphan Sung District. They required the BMA and relevant agencies to urgently find out solutions and take action on the following issues: the improvement of the damaged footbridge in communities, including construction of the new footbridge for canal crossing to replace the existing wooden footbridge; the problem of unfinished dam construction; the problem of lighting in communities; and the installation of traffic lights and crosswalks. In this regard, the Governor of Bangkok assigned Saphan Sung District Office to coordinate with the relevant agencies and utility organizations to survey and rapidly solve the problems. This will alleviate people’s hardships and make things more convenient for the people as well as ensure safety and security in life and property of people in the communities. Some problems can be completely solved within one day; nevertheless, some problems require more time for additional site visits and surveys which are expected to be completed within 7 days.
