Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, had a site visit to inspect the readiness of the BMA field hospital (Erawan 2) to accommodate COVID-19 patients at the BMA field hospital, (Erawan 2) located at the Bangkok Arena Sports Center in Nong Chok district. He revealed that the field hospital set up at the Bangkok Arena Sports Center in Nong Chok district (Erawan 2 Hospital) was the 4th field hospital of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The Erawan 2 Hospital can accommodate 400 beds for COVID-19 patients, divided into 150 beds for male patients and 250 beds for female patients. It will be ready for service on April 19, 2021 with the support of beds and mosquito nets from SCG, and mattresses and bedding from the Lotus Bedding Group. Moreover, generous people also support consumer goods such as drinking water, necessary items, and so on.
The asymptomatic COVID-19 patients or the Green COVID-19 patients must be admitted to the field hospital for treatment and monitoring of symptoms. In case of the Yellow or Red COVID-19 patients, they will be referred to the hospital with the preparedness for COVID-19 treatment and caring. Moreover, preparation in many aspects have been made such as the provision of 3 meals and Wi-Fi signal, as well as the implementation to fully prevent and control infection based on the standards prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health. In terms of safety and security, CCTV cameras are installed with 24-hour security guards. In addition, the BMA field hospital is operated according to standard criteria, namely, social distancing between beds of at least 1.5 meters, wearing of surgical face mask at all times, the ban on gatherings, and practice of personal protection measures (DMHTT). Officers will clearly inform rules and regulations to all infected persons before admission to the field hospital.
