Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, chaired the meeting of the BMA’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (BMA-CCSA).
The meeting assigned district offices to coordinate with police officers of the police stations in locality to inspect, give advice, monitor, and control business operators or employers as well as workers who live in the construction camps to strictly comply with prevention and control measures for the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in construction sites and construction worker camps according to the measures annexing to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Announcement on Surveillance, Prevention and Control Measures for the Spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), especially in the construction worker camps where a large number of people live in. The district offices also need to publicize among people living in the neighboring areas to know more about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and how to take care of personal hygiene. This includes to monitor and closely observe the compliance with measures by constructions workers in the camps and surrounding areas.
In addition, the meeting assigned the BMA City Law Enforcement Department to set up teams to visit, inspect, give advice, monitor, and control the construction worker camps. The BMA Health Department was also assigned to make daily self-assessment report for the construction worker camps with the aim to facilitate the inspection teams, business operators or employers and to be used as guidelines for the compliance with the control measures.
