Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, and Mrs. Silapasuai Rawisaengsun, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) have been concerned about the situation of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in eastern Bangkok area. Thus, they assigned Mr. Khachit Chatcahwanit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA to visit the area and inspect all aspects of measures for prevention and control of the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) including to raise spirit and morale of medical personnel who have been working in the area as follows: the visit to markets in Prawet District to inspect the collection of saliva samples for the COVID-19 testing from the high-risk target group which are vendors and assistants in the market; the visit to Chaloem Phrakiat 72 Phansa Stadium to inspect the provision of COVID-19 screening services to target groups such as high-risk people, people in occupational risk groups, people whose work is to provide public service or have a chance to contact with a large number of people, and the general public who are at risk.
Moreover, the Deputy Permanent Secretary has inspected the surveillance and control measures for the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in three construction worker camps located in eastern Bangkok area. There are 146 workers living in construction worker camps and no one infected with COVID-19. Nong Chok District Office has implemented the “Bubble Protocol” which means “all construction workers and residents” will be restricted to stay only in the construction site and camp. System for transportation service or system to monitor the traveling to and from construction site and camp will be provided and they will be isolated from community for standard disease control.
On the same day, the Deputy Permanent Secretary also visited and inspected hospitel under the supervision of Sirindhorn Hospital, Erawan 2 Field Hospital at Bangkok Arena Sports Center in Nong Chok District and the hospitel under the supervision of King Taksin Memorial Hospital at Baan Thai Boutique Hotel in Bang Kapi District.
