Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, chaired a meeting of the Subcommittee on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Administration of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), No. 2/2021.
The meeting discussed the readiness of vaccination against COVID-19 on March 1, 2021 which was the first day that the BMA officially began the vaccine rollout. COVID-19 vaccination service will be provided to medical personnel and frontline healthcare workers both from public and private sectors in 6 districts of Bangkok that have areas connected with Samut Sakhon Province, where various cases of COVID-19 infection are first found during the new surge, namely Bang Khun Thian District, Bang Bon District, Nong Khaem District, Chom Thong District, Bang Khae District, and Phasi Charoen District. According to the inspection of COVID-19 vaccination for the BMA executives in the morning of March 1, 2021, the BMA was confident that the BMA affiliated hospitals and 13 private hospitals who will join forces in providing vaccination are almost 100% ready for service. However, the first day of vaccine rollout had a few obstacles but it had already been solved rapidly.
However, people who have already vaccinated are requested to have self-observation of their symptoms. If having any symptoms like fatigue, acute flaccid paralysis, fever or headache, injection site pain, soreness and swelling, muscle aches, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, chest pain and difficulty breathing, having red, itchy, swollen, or painful rash or other reactions or symptoms such as diarrhea of unknown cause, please seek medical attention immediately at the nearest hospital or health establishment or call hotline 1422 of Department of Disease Control for consultation in order to prevent any harms that may occur.
