Mrs. Silapasuai Rawisaengsun, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), had a site visit to inspect the place arranged to be a COVID-19 vaccination service point at Port Authority of Thailand, Khlong Toei district. After the visit, she revealed that the BMA in cooperation with the Institute for Urban Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Public Health and network partners had continuously conducted active case findings to search for people infected with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by nasopharyngeal swabs with the use of royally bestowed biosafety mobile unit to collect test specimens from the risk groups living in Khlong Toei communities. Furthermore, COVID-19 vaccination service was provided to control and prevent the spread of disease. Two COVID-19 vaccination service points were set up at Wat Khlong Toei School and activity plaza in front of Tesco Lotus Rama IV and provided service during May 4 – 7, 2021. The total number of COVID-19 recipients was 7,093. In addition, in order to provide COVID-19 vaccination service to the risk group of in Khlong Toei communities, covering the target group of 50,000 people, the BMA decided to add one more COVID-19 vaccination service point at the area near warehouse of the Port Authority of Thailand which can be opened for service on May 10, 2021.
