Mrs. Silapasuai Rawisaengsun, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), said that the BMA Communicable Diseases Committee Meeting No. 16/2021 resolved to relax restrictions and measures for 5 businesses such as public parks and botanic gardens can be opened but are not allowed got other recreational activities except walking and running. In this regard, public parks operated by the BMA will open daily from 05.00 to 21.00 hrs. However, the BMA requests kind cooperation from the people who come to use the service of public parks strictly follow the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) preventive measures as prescribed by the Government. Everyone must wear sanitary or cloth face mask at all times while in the public parks. Social distancing must be practiced, and handwashing must be done frequently. The BMA Environment Department will screen all service users before entering the public parks. For example, all service users will have body temperature checking as well as register and record time for entering and leaving the premises using application as prescribed by the Government such as ThaiChana and MorChana to collectively control and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
After that, the Permanent Secretary for the BMA and her delegation visited Bangkok Flora Festival to honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of the royal birthday (July 28, 2021) and Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of the royal birthday (June 3, 2021). The Festival was organized with the emphasis on the beauty and fluttering of flowers. The place is spectacularly decorated with 40,700 flowers in the shade of yellow and purple on the area of 3 rai in Chatuchak District. It will open for the people to visit for relaxation and taking photo of beautiful scenery during June – July 2021.
