Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, joined the visit to inspect the preparation of freshly-cooked meals by Ruamkatanyu Foundation to help people affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Ruamkatanyu Foundation has set up Ruamkatanyu Field Kitchen to prepare freshly cooked food packing in boxes, 3 meals a day, and deliver to COVID-19 patients and medical personnel in various areas such as Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital, Erawan 3 Field Hospital at Chaloem Phrakiat Sports Center (Bang Mot) in Thung Khru District, Venerable Thawisak Jutindharo Hospital in Nong Khaem District, Erawan 2 Field Hospital at Bangkok Arena Sports Center in Nong Chok District, and Wetchakarunrasm Hospital in Nong Chok District. Another Ruamkatanyu Field Kitchen was also set up to deliver freshly cooked food to COVID-19 clusters in Khlong Toei communities. The total number of freshly cooked meal boxes, from the first day until today, is 405,000 boxes.
The Governor of Bangkok said that the BMA would like to thank Ruamkatanyu Foundation for the generous support in cooking and delivering food to people starting from October 15, 2016 during the royal funeral of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) until the situation of COVID-19 pandemic at present. This aims to support the works of medical teams comprising doctors, nurses, officers, and volunteers, as well as COVID-19 patients who have been hospitalized in the BMA field hospitals and other field hospitals located in surrounding areas and to alleviate hardship of people affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
