The outbreak situation of COVID-19 in Bangkok area still continues to find more people getting infected each day. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has sent the Bangkok Comprehensive COVID-19 Response Teams (Bangkok CCRTs) to expedite the search for patients to bring them into care and treatment system. This aims to prevent disease transmission as quickly as possible and reduce new confirmed cases and deaths as much as possible. The teams have visited and searched for people at high risk in all 50 districts of Bangkok and performed screening test using the Antigen Test Kit (ATK) that can show the results quickly. Any case with a positive result will be reconfirmed by performing reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test to promptly bring the patient into an appropriate standardized care and treatment system whether at home, field hospitals, or hospitals.
Asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients who can stay and look after themselves at home will enter into Home Isolation (HI) system for 14 days or until recovered. There will be volunteer people to join as a “Super Rider” to deliver a set of necessary equipment for home isolation, including paracetamol to reduce fever, Thai medicinal herb “Fa Thalai Chon”, digital thermometer, Fingertip Pulse Oximeter, alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel, sanitary face mask, and food to patients’ homes. At present, a large number of HI-registered patients are now being delivered. All Super Riders are trained to protect themselves from infection before working.
