On 13th August 2021 at 10.00 am., Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, received 8,000 relief bags from Mr. Yang Xin, Minister Counsellor, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand to support the people of Bangkok who have been affected by the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and strengthen the cooperation to fight against COVID-19 between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand. The virtual donation ceremony for relief bags was organized at Rattanakosin Room, Bangkok City Hall.
In this connection, Governor of Bangkok conveyed his gratitude to the Embassy and Chinese citizens for the said donation of relief bags. He also mentioned the cordial and long-lasting relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand which has been prospering by various fields of collaboration such as arts and culture, technology, trade, investment, education as well as exchanges. Although COVID-19 has been rampaging worldwide, both countries has been supported each other. For Bangkok, it has had assistance not only from the Chinese Embassy, but it also has received lots of medical supplies and equipment from its Chinese sister cities and city with close relations, including Beijing, Shandong Province, Shanxi Province, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, and Shanghai. Such support was greatly beneficial to the BMA’s medical and public health missions, and he hoped that the relations between countries will be permanently maintained in the future.
